Charles L. Holupka, 92, of Waynesburg and formerly of Nemacolin, Pennsylvania died unexpec-tedly on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Evergreen Assisted Living, Waynesburg.

He was born Sunday, September 29, 1918 in Crucible, Pennsylvania son of Michael and Mary (Babich) Holupka.

Mr. Holupka graduated from Cumberland Township High S c h o o l i n Carmichaels, Pennsylvania and received both his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Accounting from Penn State University.

He resided in Nemacolin nearly all of his life.

He served with the United States Army with the 129th Division in Europe, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.

Mr. Holupka was a longtime accountant for Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority, Jefferson, Pennsylvania until his retirement.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan!

Surviving are one sister, Margaret Day and husband Luther of Carmichaels; four nephews: Robert Kocielek and his wife Judy of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Holupka and his wife Kathy of Prince William, Virginia, Charles E. Holupka and his wife Julie of Garden City, Michigan and William Kline and his wife Karen of Garden City, Michigan; three nieces: Cheryl R. Gallentine and her husband William of Carmichaels, D i a n n e Braeckevelt and her husband Gary of Northfield, Michigan, Jill Kopke and her husband Norm of Grindstone City, Michigan; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Deceased are his parents; four brothers, Michael Holupka, John Holupka, George Holupka and William Holupka; a sister, Mary Kocielek; and two nephews, Roger Day and Ronald Day.

Family and Friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, PA 15320 where the Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. The Rev. Bruce R. Judy will officiate.

Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, with Full Military Honors accorded by the Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Cumberland American Legion Post 400, 205 East George Street, or to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491, 500 West George Street, both Carmichaels, PA 15320.
