Eleanor Jones Mills
Eleanor J. Jones Mills of Brownsville, Pennsylvania and formerly of Lambert, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, age 83 years, went to her Heavenly Rest at the home of her son, Raymond Mills, on Sunday, June 12, 2011 with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Tuesday, March 13, 1928 in Lee County, Georgia to Cella Perry.
Eleanor made her life as a housewife and loving mother. She loved caring for her family and many friends!
She was a member of St. Mathews Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia and The Order of the Eastern Star Alpha Chapter No. 71.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, David Mills Sr.; one son, General Nelson Longstreet; and brothers, Roger Milledge, Joe L. Williams, Jessie L. Williams and Willie C. Jones.
Left behind to cherish her memory are four sons: David Mills Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Marvin and Eileen Mills of Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania, Nathaniel Mills of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Raymond and Kelly Mills of Brownsville, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind to carry on her legacy 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by LANTZ FUNERAL HOME INC., Uniontown, PA 15401 and assisted by MEADOWS FUNERAL HOME, 315 South Madison Street, Albany, GA 31701-2881 (229.439.2262).
A private Funeral was held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Mathews Baptist Church in Leesburg, Georgia. Reverend H. C. Wilson officiated.
Interment followed in the St. Mathews Baptist Church Cemetery, Gus Martin Road, Leesburg, Georgia.
