Mrs. Louise Forsythe Martens
Mrs. Louise Forsythe Martens, age 71, of Gaffney, South Carolina went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
She was born Wednesday, April 24, 1940 the daughter of the late Milton R. Forsythe Sr. and Alberta Davis Forsythe.
Mrs. Martens was the wife of Guenther Martens.
Mrs. Martens held a Masters Degree in Language Pathology
She was formerly employed in the Cherokee County School System in Education as a Speech Pathologist.
Mrs. Martens, in addition to her husband, is survived by two daughters: Jean Louise Martens Franzetta of Boalsburg, Pennsylvania and Carolyn Martens Mullinax of Gaffney, South Carolina; son, Johann Martens of Duncan, South Carolina; one brother, Milton R. Forsythe Jr. of Ohio; one sister, Jane Rehm of Maryland; five grandchildren: Sarah Mullinax, B o y c e Mullinax, Christina Mullinax, Megan Martens, Andy Martens
Funeral Services for Mrs. Martens will be held today (Sunday, July 3, 2011) at 2:30 p.m. in the LAMB OF GOD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1645 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina, conducted by Pastor John Rickert.
Burial will be in the Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gaffney, South Carolina, following the Service
The family received friends at the SHUFORD-HATCHER FUNERAL HOME (Downtown), 211 East Frederick Street, Gaffney, SC 29340 (864.489.2533) on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lamb of God Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 1645 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
