Toddler bitten by dog in Cokeburg

?A 2-year-old California child suffered injuries when a rottweiler bite the toddler following a fireworks display in Cokeburg, Washington County, Saturday.

Southwest Regional police Chief John D. Hartman said the incident occurred shortly after 10?p.m. at the Cokeburg Borough Park. Hartman said that following a fireworks display a rottweiler owned by Matthew Puskarich, 29, of Ellsworth attacked 2-year-old Dasan Daniels, biting the toddler and causing significant injuries to his face.

Daniels was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital before being transferred to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh where he received 25 stitches to close open wounds on his face. Hartman said the toddler has since been released.

The incident remains under investigation by Washington County Animal Control and the state dog warden’s office.
