Man who took flight from animal shelter found

By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

State constables captured a North Union Township man late Thursday after he eluded law enforcement during a warrant service Wednesday morning.

Constable Mark Pasquale said Richard Huey, 37, was found holed up inside the Melody Motor Lodge in Dunbar Township around 10:30 p.m. along with an unidentified woman and several guns.

Pasquale said he was taken into custody without incident.

Huey’s capture comes less than 48 hours after police and constables discovered that Huey, his wife and the couple’s 8-month-old child were living in a shuttered animal shelter in North Union Township.

Pasquale said he and Constable Philip Michael went to the closed Steve Courson Humane Society on Gallatin Avenue in North Union Township Wednesday morning after receiving information that Huey, who was wanted on multiple warrants, was living inside.
