Wharton Township requests revisions to agreement

By Steve Ferrisheraldstandard.Com 1 min read

FARMINGTON — The Wharton Township supervisors on Monday voted to ask for revisions to a proposed agreement for a temporary water line for a gas well.

Supervisors unanimously voted to return the agreement to Triana Energy of Charleston, W.Va., with a list of concerns that solicitor Ricardo Cicconi outlined.

Triana wants to run a plastic above-ground line from Nemacolin Lake at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort through a culvert under Smith School Road to a well off Henning Road.

Cicconi said the agreement proposed by Triana doesn’t cover bonding, removal of the temporary line or what the company has to do after it is finished using the line.

The proposed contract would allow the company to renew it in six months without township approval and allow the company to run the line outside of the culvert if it doesn’t fit inside, Cicconi said.

Supervisors agreed to return the agreement to Triana with their concerns.

In other business, the supervisors:

n Approved a road maintenance agreement with Penn Forest Products for Sumey Road.

n Approved a road maintenance agreement with Iberdrola Renewables for Thurby and Quebec roads.
