2 min read

Four members of Greene County 4-H will go to Penn State for the 4-H State Achievement Days. Timothy Heldreth from Mount Morris, Tristan Kozel from Carmichaels and Jake Young from Waynesburg will enter the shotgun competition.

Bethany McCollum from Waynesburg will participate in the state fashion revue. Young also entered a photo in the photography contest.

The three 4-H members participating in the shotgun competition will shoot at a clay target as well demonstrate their ability to safely handle a firearm. Each boy competes as an individual and shoots 50 targets. Their score will be based on how many they hit.

?McCollum will model the gown she made as her clothing and textile project.

She placed in the top nine at the regional fashion revue in June allowing her to go on to compete in the state fashion revue.

Young’s photograph of a sunset was submitted and will be in competition with other photos taken by 4-H members around the state.

“We want to wish all of our members the best of luck as they compete and represent Greene County,” 4H officials said.

Greene County 4-H also held its annual day camp on June 29 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. This year’s theme was “Head, Heart, Hands, Health and Hooves.” There were 23 youth and 10 counselors at the event.

Penn State encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
