Mamie R. Nicola Thomas
Mamie R. Nicola Thomas, 85, of McClellandtown, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, WV, with her family by her side.
She was born on December 2, 1925, in Shoaf, PA, the daughter of William R. and Bessie Rucker.
She was a lifetime member of Bible Baptist Church, Uniontown, PA.
Mamie loved her family completely and enjoyed church, crocheting, puzzle building and taking care of her animals. She lived for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands: Roy Thomas and Harry Nicola and grandsons: Earl Lyons and Avery Thomas; sister, Esther (Rucker) Redman and brother, Ferris Rucker.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: James ‘Mike’ Rucker, Edenborn; Dora Evans and ‘Joe’, Masontown; Roy M. Thomas, Liverpool, England; Mark Thomas and wife Laticia, Uniontown; Florence Thomas and special friend, Alex Lyons, Point Marion; Ronald Thomas, Atlanta, GA; Raymond Thomas and fiancee’ ‘Jackie’ Parker, Uniontown; Earl Thomas, Cardale; Nancy Colbert and husband Robert, McClelland-town; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Eleanor Thomas and Florence Thomas; special son-in-law, Buster Colbert; special nephew, Winfield Thomas III and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, PA. today , July 21, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Viewing will continue Saturday at the Bible Baptist Church, Uniontown, Pa. from 9 until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Dale Reddick officiating.
Interment follows at Thomas Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
