Arrest made in California Borough murder
A neighbor has been arrested in the stabbing death of an elderly California Borough woman and his son has been taken into custody awaiting charges.
Washington County District Attorney Steve Toprani and state police Lt. Christopher Neal late Friday announced the arrest of David A. McClelland, 56, of 16 School St., Coal Center, on charges of criminal homicide, burglary, robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury, , dealing in the proceeds of illegal, activity, theft, and three counts of conspiracy to commit those crimes. The charges are in connection with the stabbing death of Evelyn Stepko, 92, who was found dead in her home on Pike Run Drive in California Borough this past Monday.
