Olga Toth Gazalie
Olga Toth Gazalie age 92 of Brownsville, Pa. died Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
She was born on July 14, 1919 in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Paul Toth and Anna (Sabo) Toth.
Also preceding her in death were her husband Albert E. Gazalie and a brother Paul Toth, Jr.
Mrs. Gazalie was the owner of Al Gazalie Wholesale Co., a business established in 1972 with her late husband Albert.
She was a former member of St. Mary’s Church of Brownsville and later a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter’s, Brownsville, Pa.
She taught English and French and was the Glee Club director at Redstone High School and later taught English and French at Brownsville Area Senior High School until her retirement in 1979.
She was a graduate of California State Teachers College and did graduate studies at West Virginia University, Seton Hill University and Wells College in Aurora, N.Y.
She was an accomplished violinist and was Concert Master of the California College Sinfonietta.
Surviving are a Nephew, Rev. Jason Gary DelVitto and his wife Anna of Upper St. Clair; Nieces: Debra and her husband Paul Gamble of Jeannette, Charlotte and her late husband William Paoleschi of Greensburg, Barbara and her husband Tullio Meneghini of Jeannette and Audrey and her husband Paul Parkman of Rochester, N.Y.
She is also survived by the following great nephews: Gregory, Steven and wife Shadia and Daniel DelVitto, all of Upper St. Clair and Brian Gamble of Jeannette and Stephanie Gamble, a great niece of Jeannette.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter of Brownsville, PA with the Rev. Fr. Micah Kozoil as celebrant.
Entombment in Westmore-land County Memorial Park.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in Olga’s name.
