Uniontown man jailed for alleged assault

A Connellsville man is behind bars after he assaulted a Uniontown woman early Saturday, police said.

Uniontown police Officer Raymond E. Miller said Nathaniel Hunter, 39, was charged with simple assault, harassment and loitering and prowling at nighttime following the incident shortly after 3 a.m.

Miller said that police responded to a residence at 124 Cleveland Ave. for a report of an assault.

When officers arrived, Miller said they discovered Mary Smith of Uniontown outside the rear of her residence sitting in an alley.
