By Josh Krysak heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

Volunteer firefighters responding to a reported brush fire in the Rowes Run area of Redstone Township got a shock early Sunday when they found a large burning cross near the Rowes Run Honor Roll instead of a brush fire.

Rich Lenk, chief of the Grindstone Volunteer Fire Department, said that he and fellow firefighters responded to the reported brush fire around midnight.

When they arrived, Lenk said they found a 12 foot by 8 foot cross burning in a gravel area across the road from the honor roll.
