Velva Jane Myers Summers, 93, of Smithfield, Pa. died July 24, 2011 with her loving family by her side.

She was born February 22, 1918 in Georges Township, Pa., daughter of John Myers and Minnie Emme Myers.

Velva was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Willie J Summers; two infants; great-grandson, Connor McLaughlin; sisters, Leona Myers, Alverta Smith, Hazel Wiles, Amy Warman, Delores Myers and Nora Ruth Myers and two brothers, Clarence Myers and Harold Myers.

She attended the White House Free Methodist Church.

Velva was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister to all her family.

Surviving are her children: Bonnie Summers, Fairchance, Pa., Beverly and Fred Falkenstine, Smithfield, Pa., Carolyn “Joan” and Larry Bowlen, Haydentown, Pa., Betty and Butch Chipps, Smithfield, Pa., Donna and Bob Hampton, Greensburg, Pa. and Bill and Melinda Summers, Smithfield, Pa.; grandchildren: William and Victoria Goodwin, Lisa and Rob English, Larry Bowlen and fiancée, Donna, Tammy and Chuck McLaughlin, Ron and Susan Hampton, Bobbielee Hampton, Chrissy and Matt Brewer, Amanda and Tim Guthrie, Holly and Dane Inks; great-grandchildren: Janelle, Liana, Josiah and Nathaniel English, Christopher and Chelsea Bowlen, C.J., Colten, Camden and Caylee McLaughlin, Josh and Emily Hampton, Saan Hampton, Matty and Mitchell Brewer and brother, John Myers, Uniontown, Pa.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday July 28, 2011 until 10:00 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. George McLaughlin and Rev. Chuck McLaughlin officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery, Cheat Lake, WV.
