Walter Edward Kasievich, Sr.
Walter Edward Kasievich, Sr., age 86, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2011.
Walter was a graduate of German Township High School and a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He retired from United States Steel Corp. as Superintendent of Operations, after more than 35 years in the coal mining industry. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Catholic War Veterans, the Holy Name Society, and VFW Post 47.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today, July 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday, July 28, 2011 until 9:15 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA.
Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA., where military honors will be accorded by the George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
The Catholic War Veterans will hold services this evening at 7 p.m.
