Edith Renninger King
Edith Renninger King, age 88, of Uniontown passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 in the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1923 in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Mary Kathryn Jobes and Irving J. Renninger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. King in 1997.
Edith graduated from Uniontown High School with the class of 1941. She worked as a school crossing guard for many years for the City of Uniontown. She was a life member of Central Christian Church, where she was a past deacon of the church, 56 year member of the choir, Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher for 21 years, member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and J.O.Y. Sunday School Class.
Edith is survived by two sons: Richard D. King and wife, Diane of Fairchance, Pa. and Jeffrey D. King and wife, Kimberly of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren: Alison, Jonathan, Adam and Hallie and sister, Marjorie L. Dally of Houston, Texas.
Visitation will continue today in CENTRAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH from 10 until 11 a.m., followed by a service celebrating Edith’s life at 11 a.m. with Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Pa.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
