Charles Richard Ewanick, 81 of Uniontown, Pa., died on Thursday July 28, 2011 in Mt. St. Macrina Manor.

He was born April 16, 1930 in Masontown, Pa.

Preceding him in death were his parents Charles and Julia Ewanick, his wife Irene Dolores Discovich Ewanick, a brother John Ewanick and two sisters Ann Ewanick and Mary Smearcheck.

Charles was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and a proud member of the Cement Masons Union.

Surviving are four children: Diane Grena and husband Fred of Uniontown, Denise Dinsmore and husband James of Hopwood, Pa., Darlene Pastorius of Cecil, Pa. and Scott Ewanick of South Park, Pa.; four grandchildren: Jillian Grena, Kara Dinsmore and fiance’ Patrick Watson, Jarred Pastorius and Kylene Pastorius, a brother Michael Ewanick and wife Bonnie of Pittsburgh, Pa. and a sister Julia Albani and husband Gene of Warren, Ohio.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown, PA today from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Monday until 9:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Ron Larko as celebrant.

Interment will follow St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery Hopwood, PA.
