HS carrier Pahula set to graduate
Joseph Pahula, a Herald-Standard newspaper carrier for six years, will graduate from Brownsville Area High School with the Class of 2011.
Pahula of Brownsville, a son of Richard Pahula and Marcy Sawka, was named the Herald-Standard’s Youth Carrier of the Year in 2008 and placed second that year in the Pennsylvania Newspapers Association Foundation’s Youth Carrier of the Year contest.
?Pahula said he began the carrier job to make money, ultimately leading him to purchase his own car as a senior in high school. His route includes the delivery of 52 papers.
At school, Pahula enjoys T.V. I and II with instructor Brittany Nuzzo and was active in soccer and tennis.
Outside of school, Pahula enjoys playing video games. He plans to attend Westmoreland County Community College in Youngwood to study education.
