Jefferson-Morgan commencement exercises planned for today
Jefferson-Morgan High School will graduate 65 at the 2011 commencement exercises being held at 7?p.m. today in the Stanley Fowler Auditorium.
Class valedictorian is Jessie Milliken of Mather.
?He has received numerous honors, including the Chapmen Scholarship, Mateucci Scholarship, P.T.O. Scholarship, Gannon Founders Scholarship and Southwest Regional Foundation Scholarship.
In school, Milliken has participated in football, debate team, academic team, Science Olympiad Team, Envirothon, National Honors Society and Varsity Club.
After graduation, Milliken plans to attend college to earn a degree in biology, and then move on to medical school and eventually become a doctor.
He is a son of Mike and Joy Milliken of Mather.
Class salutatorian is Nicole Shultz of Waynesburg.
She has earned a number of scholastic awards including the President’s Education Award for academic excellence, the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, two Challenge Program Inc. awards, the Robert E. Titus Education Award, and the Army Scholar/Athlete Award.
School activities included National Honor Society, Who’s Who, Leo Club, Varsity Club, the Big Brother/Big Sister program, Science Olympiad, and Academic Team.
Following graduation, Shultz plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in pre-pharmacy.
She is a daughter of Carl and Michelle Shultz of Waynesburg.
