Arriving to Panama
June 4th, 2011
Bethel Baptist Church of Uniontown has arrived in Panama to serve the lord on a Missions Trip.
We arrived this afternoon. The weather is beautiful here it is humid but still I am loving it. I am uploading some of my photos as we speak so hopefully I will have some to share soon.
After gathering everything from the airport off to the hostel we went. Our hostel is primitive but it will work.. Ok well maybe primitive is not the word.. We have running water, beds to sleep in, a refrigerator, shower, and WiFi,,,, I exaggerate sometimes.. lol
Then off to dinner we went..
And dinner was fantastic! I had Pollo de Mignon (Chicken Mignon style) at a local restaurant called Mi Ranchito. After dinner we got to view a little bit of the city across the waterway via a passage near the Panama Canal. What a beautiful sight to see! The drive to and from was interesting in itself.
Anyways we went back to the hostel and got settled in and decided to look around town a bit. We got some ice cream.. actually a Batido de Pina (it is basically a smoothie type drink mine was made from get this FRESH pineapple… It was delicious….
Then off to a grocery store which was very interesting.. We had to pick up some water and other little incidentals.. I saw a cockroach other than that we were ok…. I also got him on video climbing over the products… Then back to the hostel to settle in for the evening as many of us didn’t get much sleep today because of the early flight and tomorrow we will be singing and performing the dramas for the church. That is all for today.. I will be updating as we go.. 🙂
