Fairchance man waives child porn charges
?A 76-year-old Fairchance man accused of possessing a large cache of child pornography will have his day in court.
State police Trooper Thomas B. Broadwater said Frederick Converse Robinson III of 309 Sheldon Ave. was charged in February before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham with a felony count of possession of child pornography and misdemeanor counts of theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
According to Broadwater, a police investigation into Robinson was initiated Aug. 17.
Robinson waived all charges against him to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing Thursday before Abraham.
Broadwater said that during the investigation, police found Robinson in possession of a “large amount” of child pornography.
Robinson was initially placed the Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment, but has since posted bail.
However, Abraham also set additional requirements on Robinson that precludes him from having any contact with children without adult supervision while out on bond.
Robinson does not have a prior criminal record, police said.
