Lillian Mary Horvath Vargulich
Mrs. Lillian Mary Horvath Vargulich, 85 of 658 Robinson Road, Campbell, Ohio, passed away at 12:30 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011 peacefully at St. Elizabeth H e a l t h Center, Youngstown, Ohio after a brief illness with her daughter Valerie at her side.
Mrs. Vargulich was born in West Leisenring, Pa. on September 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Fabo) Horvath.
She graduated from Dunbar High School Class of 1953, where she was a National Honors Society Member.
She was a member of Bethelehem Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Pa. for 13 years. She worked as a Secretary at Richmond Radiator Company in Uniontown, Pa., For 13 years, she also worked as a Cook at Countryside Golf Course in Coitsville,
Lillian was a Deacon at Coitsville Presbyterian Church and frequently helped with church dinners and functions. She loved to sing and had a beautiful alto voice! She was an avid photographer, loved scrapbooking, enjoyed Hungarian Folk dancing, enjoyed cooking and baking Hungarian foods, meticulous housekeeper, enjoyed roller-skating in her younger years, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling; and in 1973 she traveled to Hungary to visit her sisters.
Surviving at home is her loving husband, Peter Vargulich, Sr., whom she married on September 17, 1955.
Surviving are her loving daughter Valerie Sinkuc and her husband Walter of Farrell, Pa.; loving son Peter Thomas Vargulich, Jr. and his wife Sandra of St. Charles, Ill.; 2 grandchildren Katherine and Thomas Vargulich.
Lillian will be immensely missed by her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt. She was a devout Christian woman, who always praised the Lord.
Preceded in death by: her parents, son Luke Vargulich, (Sis) Helen Juhasz, Lydia Kiss, (Bro) Emil Horvath and great Aunt Julia Poduszlo.
Calling hours will be held today (Friday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at STEPHEN J. SHERMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
Funeral Service will be held at BETHELEHEM PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Sharon, PA, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011 with Reverend Robbie Arnold officiating.
Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery Coitsville, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley.
