Florence Theresa Filiaggi Carbonara, age 87, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, June 12, 2011.

She was born November 4, 1923 in Newell, Pa., the daughter of the late Nazzareno and Nazzarena Filiaggi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son-in-law, Ronald Chico; brothers: James, Chester, Mike, Fred and Frank Filiaggi and her sisters: Mary Frangipani, Elsie Filiaggi, Clara Ferrell and Dolores Latorre.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (GiGi), who was giving and unselfish. Her family was the joy of her life.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna Marie (Carbonara) Chico of Uniontown and her son, Carl Francis (Putsy) Carbonara of Volga, WV; grandchildren: Kelley Louis Chico and wife, Linda and their sons: Ronnie and Joshua; Rhonda Lee Chico and her son, Ryan Faris; Joy Beacon and husband, John and their son, Nicholas; sister, Mrs. Viola (Filiaggi) Stefanko; sister-in-law, Mrs. Irene Filiaggi; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Carbonara and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her family are the loving caregivers whom she adored: Helen Bailey, Lil Martin, Annie Coleman and Debbie Hammond.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Carey McMonagle, for his care and attention and to Father Peretti, for his devout kindness.

Visitation for the family is private.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. in ST. THERESE R.C. CHURCH with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak V.F., Pastor and Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as concelebrant.

NOTE: Everyone please go directly to Church.

Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
