Uniontown firefighters battled a fire Thursday morning at a vacant house on North Gallatin Avenue. No injuries were reported and arson is suspected.

Uniontown firefighters battled a fire that ripped through a vacant house in the city early Thursday.

?Uniontown police said the fire broke out at 278 N. Gallatin Ave. at 4:25?a.m.

Firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze but not before the flames spread through the two-story house and caused significant damage.

The fire was the second at the house in recent weeks, officials said.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the fires, and officials said that both fires are believed to be arson.

Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance also responded to the fire.

Uniontown Salvation Army Disaster Services provided drinks and other items to emergency personnel.
