Cultural trust to hold summer art classes
?CONNELLSVILLE — An opportunity for youngsters to discover their artistic talents will be offered by the Fayette County Cultural Trust’s ArtWorks Connellsville each Saturday beginning July 2 and continuing to Sept. 2.
Local artist Sheree Cockrell will teach the classes that are geared for those ages 6-14.
“I very excited about doing it,” she said. “I enjoy working with the kids and it should be a lot of fun.”
ArtWorks offers a location for area authors and artists to showcase their work and provides a variety of art classes for young people and adults.
Proceeds aid the nonprofit trust in its programs and initiatives.
Two 90-minute classes will be held each Saturday and begin at 9:30?a.m. for those age 6 to 9 and at 11:30?a.m. for those ages 10 to 14.
A fee will be charged to cover the cost of materials.
The date and classes include:

n July 9 – graphite embossing
n July 16 – paper umbrella painting
n July 23 – festival of flowers
n July 30 – glass mosaics
n Aug. 6 – paint your own puzzle
n Aug. 13 – colored pencil Repousse
n Aug. 20 – paint your own bird house
n Aug. 27 – scrapbooking
n Sept. 3 – photo reproduction

ArtWorks is open Monday through Saturdays from 10?a.m. to 5?p.m.
