Frank Gedda
Frank Gedda, 87, of California, PA, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
He was born Thursday, April 24, 1924, in California, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Campagna) Gedda.
Frank was the owner of Gedda’s Gulf and Service Station and the Tic-Tok Ice Cream Shop, in California. He was a man of faith. He had formal training as an aircraft mechanic prior to entering the Navy, where he proudly served during WW II. Frank was a 60 year member of the California American Legion, JFK Post 377.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Verna on January 25, 2000; a brother, Joseph Gedda and niece, Shirley Gedda.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathy Gustovich and her husband, Samuel of Greensburg, PA; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Gwen Gedda of California, PA; granddaughter, Rebecca Heidenreich-Orczeck and husband, Brian of Greensburg, PA. Also surviving are his two grandsons, Franklin and Cyrus Orczeck; niece, Bonnie Filoni and nephew, Tom Gedda and wife, Diane.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA today, June 24, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. and until 11 a.m. on Saturday, when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Roy Aiken officiating.
Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kelly and Zemba’s Personal Care Home for the tender loving care that was given to Mr. Gedda during his residence there.
They also want to thank Key Care Hospice for the kindness and compassion shown to Frank in his final days.
