PennDOT announces work schedule
Chris Sleighter, Fayette County manager with the state Department of Transportation, has announced tentative work plans for the week beginning Monday.
The schedule is as follows:
?n The bridge crew will be making steel beam repairs on state Route 2003 (Wharton Furnace Road).
?n Shoulder cutting is scheduled on state routes 1050 and 1051 in the Bullskin Township area.
?n Bridge flushing is scheduled on state Route 119 in the Uniontown area.
?n Inlet repair is scheduled on state Route 119 in the Uniontown area.
?n Washout repair is scheduled on state Route 2010 (Chalk Hill-Ohiopyle Road).
?n Patching is scheduled on various state roads in the county.
?n Drainage work is scheduled on state Route 2027 (Connellsville Street), state Route 3025 (Edison Street) and state Route 4006 (New Salem Road).
?n Base repair is scheduled on state Route 201 in the Vanderbilt area.
?n Inlet flushing is scheduled on various state roads in the Connellsville area.
?n Pipe flushing is scheduled on state Route 2010 (Chalk Hill-Ohiopyle Road), Route 2021 (Jumonsville Road), and Route 2011 (Dinnerbell-Ohiopyle Road).
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
All maintenance activities are conducted as the weather permits.
PennDOT said motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
PennDOT has a 24-hour toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.
The number also can be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways.
