Dorothy I. Herod Metcalf
Dorothy I. Herod Metcalf, age 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio and formerly of Greensboro, Pennsylvania lost her courageous battle with cancer and went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2011.
She was born in Greensboro on Wednesday, April 20, 1932 the daughter of Cecil Herod and Ida (May) Herod.
A graduate of Mapletown High School, she dedicated her life to her God, her husband, children and grandchildren.
On August 12, 1948, she married Charles E. Metcalf. He passed away May 22, 1995.
She was also predeceased by her parents; brothers, Harold, Jack and Junior Herod; and one sister, Edith Chekosky.
She is survived by her six loving children and their spouses: Charles and Perrie Metcalf of Linfield, Pennsylvania, Debbie McGregor of Cincinnati, Robin and Roy Lucas of Lombard, Illinois, Barry and Tamara Metcalf of Blain, Pennsylvania, Darci and David Kurilko of Cincinnati, and Tina and Eric Tarpley of Washington, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers: Leonard Herod of Greensboro and Ralph Herod of Hopwood, Pennsylvania; and a number of relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, P o i n t Marion, Pennsylvania on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 29, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with her brother, Rev. Leonard Herod, officiating.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, Pennsylvania. www.herod-rishel.com
