?A Uniontown man is behind bars after he fired three or four rounds from a handgun at another Uniontown man during a dispute early Sunday.

Uniontown police Officer Jason Fidazzo said Michael Locke, 62, of 159 Walnut St. was charged before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr. with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and theft following the incident that occurred on Lenox Street.

According to Fidazzo, the incident occurred shortly after midnight when a man, later identified as Locke, was spotted by Terry Duritsky walking in a yard neighboring his mother’s residence at 78 Lenox St.

Duritsky informed police that his mother has been having some issues with some of her neighbors prior to the shooting incident, Fidazzo said.

Duritsky told police that he asked Locke what he was doing on the neighboring lawn and the man responded by swearing at him, Fidazzo said, and continued to walk through the yard.

When Duritsky told him to stop, Fidazzo said Locke brandished a handgun and fired three or four rounds toward Duritsky and Duritsky said he could hear the bullets flying past his head.

No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

Following his arrest Sunday afternoon, Locke was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $10,000 straight cash bond after his arraignment .

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.
