James C. Jenkins ‘Jinks’
James C. Jenkins ‘Jinks’, 67, Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly at h o m e o n Saturday, June 25, 2011.
Jimmy was a very devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend.
He was born to L l o y d Jenkins and ‘Bobbie’ Robinson Jenkins in 1944.
Graduating from Uniontown High School, he remained an avid Red Raiders’ fan to the end.
He served in the United States Navy being stationed in California.
For many years he worked at the West Penn Power Hatfield Station until retirement (2002)
‘Jinks’ never met a stranger and will be remembered for his friendly ways to all who crossed his path.
His favorite past times were: watching his grandson Jeffrey play sports, cheering for the Red Raiders, criticizing the Refs, exercising at the YMCA, and hanging at the East End E.M.A. building with his buddies Johnny, Butch, Snitch, Joe and Dex.
Predeceased by his parents; brother, Terry Robinson; and brother-in-law, Carl Capozza.
Jimmy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Carmen (Capozza) Jenkins; children: Jeffrey (Lori) Jenkins, Nicole (Defonties) Broome, and daughter-in-love Susan (Keno) Saavedra; his grandchildren: J e f f r e y Jenkins II, Jada Jenkins, Dateis Broome and Laila Broome, soon to arrive Lauren Broome, Baby Keenie; special great nephew, Christian Jones; brother, Lloyd ‘Butch’ Jenkins; sister, Karen Gonsalves; aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews; and in-laws: Isabelle, Carolyn, Joe, Janet J., Janet C. and Robbie.
Friends will be received at MOUNT OLIVET BAPTIST CHURCH, Stewart Avenue, Uniontown, on Thursday, June 29, from 9 a.m. until 12 Noon followed by a Funeral Service starting promptly at 12 with Jimmy’s friend and Pastor, the Rev. Vince Winfrey Sr., officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Macrina Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to LANTZ FUNERAL HOME.
