Greene County Education Center gets new coordinator
Westmoreland County Community College has appointed a new coordinator to head its Greene County Education Center in Waynesburg starting July 5.
Following her appointment by the WCCC board of trustees, Amy K. Widdup of Waynesburg will oversee the daily operations of the college’s Greene County Education Center located in EverGreene Technology Park.
?Widdup has more than 15 years experience in nonprofit settings. For the last 10 years, she has served as the executive director of the Greene County United Way. She has also held administrative positions with the Greene County Women’s Shelter, American Heart Association in Uniontown and the Women’s Resource Center at Dickinson College, Carlisle.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Waynesburg College and a master’s degree in public administration from Shippensburg University.
The WCCC Greene County Education Center offers credit classes for career preparation or for transfer into bachelor’s degree programs at four-year universities. The center also offers an evening/weekend nursing program and a variety of workforce development programs, including nurse aid, new miner and emergency medical technician-basic, and roustabout training for the oil and gas industry.
