‘Grease’ on stage at Connellsville High School

CONNELLSVILLE – The Pink Ladies and Thunderbirds of Rydell High School will take to the Connellsville Area High School stage this evening in the first of four performances of the Broadway musical “Grease.”

Other performances will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The 1950s musical is about the lives and loves of several Rydell High School seniors preparing for graduation day.

Connellsville senior Francesca Molinaro will play the role of Sandy and Brennen Malia, also a senior, will play Danny Zuko, her love interest.

According to Heidi Eutsey, publicity coordinator for the musical, more than 100 students are a part of the cast with 25 students and adults providing orchestral accompaniment.

Other students and teachers have also provided costumes, stage scenery, lighting and direction assistance.

Tickets are available for all performances and can be purchased at the high school at a cost of $10 for this evening’s show and $12 for the Friday and Saturday performance and the Sunday matinee.
