George Edward Rowe
George Edward Rowe, 91, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh.
He was born on Friday, December 26, 1919 the son of Fred Rowe and Margaret Richter Rowe in Connellsville.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Anchor Hocking Cap Plant in South Connellsville as a Metal Cutter.
Earlier, he had worked for several years at the former Davidson Mine.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 301.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Rowe, Bobby Rowe and James Rowe; and nephew, Rob Rowe.
He is survived by a brother, John Rowe of Confluence, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law: Theresa Rowe of Connellsville, and Anna Rowe of La Medera, California; nephews: George Rowe and his wife Cindy of Connellsville, Robbie Rowe of California state; nieces: Mary Rowe and Stacey Traynor and her husband Vinny all of Connellsville, Sheilah Rowe of Confluence, Nonnie Regish of Normalville, Pennsylvania, Carol Rowe and Lisa Rowe both of California state; great nephews: Tyler Rowe, Zachary Traynor, Seth Traynor and Ian Traynor; great nieces: Kristen Rowe and Katie Rowe, Rachel Orr, Shelly Pirl, Crystal Weber and Bailey Traynor; great-great-nephew, Ian Palaisa; great-great-niece, Annika Orr; longtime friend, Zelda Rinker; and his dog, Fluffy.
Family and Friends will be received today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425 (724.628.1872) and on Tuesday, March 8, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles Whipple officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pennsylvania with Full Military Rites accorded at graveside by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 21 and the American Legion Posts 301 and 762.
