Marilyn Cellurale announces candidacy for county commissioner

1 min read

Dunbar Township businesswoman Marilyn Cellurale has announced that she is seeking a Republican nomination for Fayette County commissioner in the May 17 municipal primary.

Cellurale, a former Democrat, said she changed to Republican after becoming disillusioned with the Democratic Party.

“I was a lifelong Democrat until I became disillusioned with the over-spending and the big government handouts. The Republican Party represents the values that I respect and the way I run our business,” Cellurale said.

She is making her second foray into county politics, having run as an independent in the 2007 municipal election.

She is self-employed as the owner of Cellurale Garden Center. She and her husband Jim have run the business for 31 years.
