Polly Torrusio, Duke Fine and Debra Stolarik celebrate their birthdays today. Debra is turning 60. Other birthdays this week include: Ted Hamilla, Monday; Gino Parenti and twins Kaelyn and Kendell Shaporka, Tuesday. The Shaporka twins are turning 8 and are in the second grade. Rachel Lasko and Emma Elizabeth Chuboy celebrate on Thursday; Emma Smith, Friday; and Elma Sokol, Lily Maxson (turns 6), Kathleen Dora Sales and Ruth McClellan, Saturday.

Sons of Italy
The Sons of Italy in Perryopolis will sponsor “A Night With Dean Martin” featuring Bob Morelli. The show will be held in the social hall at 7 p.m. on April 2. Tickets are $12 and will include appetizers. A cash bar will be provided. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Sons of Italy or call Chrissy at 724-736-4771 or Diane at 724-736-2757.
The Perryopolis Sons of Italy will hold a fish fry on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent. Hours are noon until 9 p.m. Takeouts are available by calling 724-736-8983.
Class of 1992
Frazier High School Class of 1992 members Missy Roberts Gerlachovsky and John Matty have called a class reunion meeting at 7 p.m. on March 26 at the Santa Barbara Club in Newell. All classmates are welcome to attend to start planning the 20th-year reunion.
Soup, sandwich sale
St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Perryopolis, is holding a soup and sandwich luncheon from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 13.
There will be four soups and four sandwiches to choose from, dessert and a beverage for $6. Takeouts are available. Proceeds benefit the church renovation fund, sponsored by St. Nick’s Ladies Altar Society.
Spaghetti dinner
Brownfield Community Center, 291 Banning Road, Dawson, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on March 20 to benefit a local farmer with a severe traumatic brain injury. Proceeds from this event will offset the cost of medical necessities and rehabilitation. Eat-in or take-out meals will be available.
Cost is $7 and includes spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert.
Half the take, Chinese auction and small games of chance will also be available.

Sports Boosters
The Perryopolis Baseball and Softball Boosters for the Frazier High School are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on March 17. Tickets are available at the door and takeouts are available.
Cemetery cleanup
The caretaker at Mount Washington Cemetery in Perryopolis would like to have all decorations removed from the graves by March 15 to facilitate the spring cleanup of the cemetery.
St. John’s Youth
The St. John the Baptist Youth Group have rescheduled the flea market and soup luncheon from 7:30 a.m. until noon March 13 at the church social hall.
There will be a choice of minestrone or calico bean soup and pepperoni rolls offered.
Takeout is also available.
The public is encouraged to shop for a bargain, enjoy a bowl of homemade soup and support the youth group.
