Commissioners meeting postponed

EAST BETHLEHEM TWP. – Wednesday’s township commissioners meeting was postponed because of a lack of quorum.

Chairman Paul Battaglini and Commissioner Mike Packrell were present, however, a third member was needed for a quorum.

Battaglini stated that the meeting could not be held next week because the township’s solicitor, Matt Keranko, could not be present. The rescheduled meeting is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. March 23.

Battaglini did report that a portion of the sidewalks in Fredericktown would be redone. The township plans to redo the sidewalk along Front Street with funds obtained by the Local Share Assessment Fund that is funded through proceeds of casino gambling at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino.

“It’ll go from the gazebo+to the corner of Bill DeWeese’s office,” Battaglini said.

Work on the sidewalk is expected to begin in mid-April.
