Edward J. Urusko “Betz”
Edward J. “Betz” Urusko, age 87, of Fairbank, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 in Uniontown Hospital.
Born on February 3, 1924 in Republic, Pennsylvania he was the son of John Urusko Sr. and Anna Pellish Urusko.
Edward was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Republic where he had served as an Usher for many years.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II.
He retired from Republic Steel Corporation’s Clyde Mine and was a member of United Mine Workers of America.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Barlow Urusko in 2004; sister, Helen Bellich; brothers, Andrew Urusko, Joseph Urusko, John Urusko; and by his parents.
Surviving are his daughters: Judy Rable and husband Gary of Merrittstown, Pennsylvania and Debra Gates and husband Scott of Farmington, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Jennifer Rable and her friend Matthew DeSimone; and by his faithful pet and companion, Ace.
The family extends a special thank you to his Fayette Home Care nurses, Jen and Chris, to Dr. D’Allessio, and to the Staff of the Uniontown Hospital Emergency Room.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Holy Rosary Church.
Interment then followed in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, with Military Rites and Honors accorded by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood.
