Francis J. “Buckey” Cervone, 86, Masontown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 12, 2011.

Francis was b o r n on Tuesday, June 24, 1924, the son of F e l i x Cervone and M a r y (Minutillo) Cervone in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

“Buckey” was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown.

He proudly served his country during the Korean W a r in t h e United States Army and was a member of the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.

He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and Italo-American Citizens Club.

He was employed with E&H Chevrolet as Shop Foreman for many years and retired from the Masontown Water Plant, where he was a Treatment Operator.

For the past 18 years, he has been a devoted and beloved staff member of the Haky Funeral Homes in Masontown and Uniontown.

He cherished his Family and was a very generous, faithful, and hardworking man.

He will be deeply missed by his Family and many Friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane “Jean” (Elias) Cervone; sons, Larry A. Cervone and Ricky J. Perrotta; a brother, Albert; and sisters, Nancy and Lena.

He is survived by a daughter Diane R. Cervone, with whom he made his home; son, Jamie F. Cervone of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Thomas Collier IV, K a t i e “L i t t l e J e a n i e” Collier, Christopher Perrotta, Michael Perrotta and Ricky Perrotta, Jr.; four great-grandchildren: Peyton Cervone, Anthony Cervone, Bailey Cervone and Arianna Collier; four sisters: Thelma Gilghrist of Kent, Ohio, R o s e Peterson and Antoinette Krueger both of Edinburg, Pennsylvania and Betty Mehalic of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.,, when a Candle Light Vigil Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father John M. Butler officiating.

Military Honors will follow, accorded by the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.

Interment will be privately held for the family at Greenwood Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.
