Leona F. (Hauser) “Mammaw” Frazee
Leona F. (Hauser) “Mammaw” Frazee, age 85, of Fayetteville, NC, formerly of Fairchance and Uniontown passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the home of her granddaughter, Lisa Owens in Fayetteville, NC, where she resided for the past few years.
She was born September 3, 1925 in Oakland, MD, daughter of the late Homer Bliss and Hazel (Roth) Hauser.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Frazee to whom she was married for 55 1/2 years, at the time of his death in 2001, a daughter, Debby (Frazee) Bandzuch, a grandson, Tommy Bandzuch, brothers, Paul, Arvin, George and Wayne Hauser and a sister, Ruth Hauser.
She is survived by a son, Thomas “Danny” Frazee of Uniontown, PA; granddaughters: Lisa (Frazee) Owens and Richard Owens II of Fayetteville, NC, Nicole (Bandzuch) Hall and husband, Philp, Sr. of Uniontown, PA; great-grand-children: Brandon and Celena Hale of Fayetteville, NC, Ethan Papke of Uniontown, PA, Philip, Jr., Gabby and Nickolas Hall all of Uniontown, PA; son-in-law, Thomas Bandzuch, Jr. and friend, Dianna Lewis of Uniontown, PA; brothers: Robert Hauser of Oakland, MD, Cecil Hauser and Kay of Alba, MI, Keith Hauser and and Nell of Eglon, WV; sisters: Reba Fike and Roy of Parkersburg, WV, Colene Santopietro and Art of Little One Egg Harbor, NJ, Katherine Jenkins and Coit of Clearspring, MD; close friends: Donna (Hartman Lewis) Lynch of Morgantown, WV, Chrissy (Lewis) Palmer of Masontown, PA, Doug and Adam Sepic of Uniontown, PA, Jerry, Kathy and Mary Catherine Shimko of Keisterville, PA, Chaplain, Sam Harvin of Fayetteville, NC; her special friend, Alegra of Fayetteville, NC as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her special dog, Cali.
A Special Thank You to the Staff at LHC/Cape Fear Valley Home Care and Hospice of Fayetteville, NC, especially her nurse, Terry Carpenter, CNA, Leslie Johnson, chaplain, John Blackman, patient coordinator, Tina Barron, nurse, Debra Howell and nurse, Helen Horn.
Leona was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Uniontown, PA.
Leona was a homemaker and often worked cleaning houses for others. She loved to bake, especially her famous reunion apple pies. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Cub Scout Leader and she was everyone’s “Mammaw”
Leona enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending North Carolina Street Fairs and Festivals, Day Trips to Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as sight seeing and having family picnics and BBQ’S.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, PA today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Uniontown with Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating.
Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill.
