Robert A. “Smitty” Smith
Robert A. “Smitty” Smith, 66 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at his home.
He was born March 28, 1944 in Uniontown, son of the late Otis and Martha (Haniford) Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Gary Smith, Thomas Smith and Karen Korte.
Surviving are his wife Lil (Wayne) Smith; four children: Jeffrey R. Broadwater of Berlin, Pa., Susan B. Brick and husband James D. of Fairhope; Robert D. Smith of Uniontown and Robert E. Smith and wife Edna of Masontown; nine grandchildren; stepmother Janet Roseck of Hopwood; three step-sisters: Tammy, Kelley Dawn and Patty Ann and husband Johnathan.
“Smitty” was a Vietnam Veteran and life member and Past Commander of AMVETS Post No. 103 Hopwood and a life member of Hutchinson Sportsman’s Club. He was retired from Penn DOT with 35 years of service.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of the service with Rev. Randy Costolo officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
AMVETS Post No. 103 will accord military services at graveside.
