Results from the Eighty Four Livestock Auction held March 14 as follow:

Compared to last week, slaughter cows traded mostly 2 to 3 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 2 higher. Supply included 111 slaughter cows, seven slaughter bulls, 258 feeder cattle. All prices are per hundredweight.

Slaughter cattle:

Slaughter steers: Select 1 to 2 1,255 to 1,360 pounds, 100 to 106. Slaughter Holstein Steers: Select 1 to 2 1,070 to 1,245 pounds, 75 to 79.50. Slaughter Heifers: Select 1 to 2 1,035 to 1,375 pounds, 97 to 103.

Slaughter cows: Premium whites 65 to 75 percent lean, average dressing, 75 to 80; Breakers 75 to 80 percent lean, average dressing, 70 to 74; high dressing, 75; low dressing, 68.50 to 70. Boners 80 to 85 percent lean, average dressing, 68 to 71; high dressing, 71.50 to 72.50; low dressing, 65 to 66. Lean 85 to 90 percent lean, average dressing, 63 to 67; high dressing, 68 to 69; low dressing, 58 to 61.

Slaughter Bulls: Yield grade 1 1,135 to 1,845 pounds, 81 to 87, one high dressing 1,845 pounds, 107.50. Yield grade 2 1,125 to 2,140 pounds, 73 to 78.50.

Feeder Cattle:

Steers: Medium and large 1 300 to 500 pounds, 140 to 150; 500 to 700 pounds, 120 to 144; 700 to 900 pounds, 118.50. Medium and large 2 300 to 500 pounds, 107 to 120; 500 to 700 pounds, 108 to 119. Large 3 300 to 400 pounds, 93; 500 to 600 pounds, 89; 700 to 800 pounds, 89.

Heifers: Medium and large 1 300 to 500 pounds, 120 to 129, a few 137.50 to 140; 500 to 700 pounds, 110 to 121, a few to 125; 700 to 900 pounds, 99 to 110. Medium and large 2 300 to 500 pounds, 105 to 117.50; 500 to 700 pounds, 100 to 109.

Bulls: Medium and large 1 300 to 500 pounds, 136 to 145; 500 to 700 pounds, 120 to 139; 700 to 900 pounds, 90 to 97. Medium and large 2 300 to 500 pounds, 132.50 to 135; 500 to 700 pounds, 110 to 122; 700 to 900 pounds, 81 to 86.

Feeder Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bulls sold 15 to 20 higher. No. 1 Holstein bulls 90 to 120 pounds, 110 to 135. No. 2 Holstein bulls 90 to 130 pounds, 82.50 to 100. No. 3 Holstein bulls 85 to 120 pounds, 32.50 to 75.

Holstein Heifers: No. 1: 80 to 90 pounds, 170 to 207.50.

Beef calves: 85 to 100 pounds, 125 to 140.

Vealers: Utility 65 to 120 pounds, 10 to 17.50.

Slaughter hogs: 45 to 50 percent lean 145 to 200 pounds, 68 to 70.

Sows: US 1 to 3 500 pounds, 51.50..

Boars: 300 pounds, 34.

Feeder pigs: No test.

Slaughter lambs: Choice 1 to 3 60 to 97 pounds, 245 to 265.50, a few to 272.50.

Slaughter yearlings: 145 pounds, 177.50 to 190.

Slaughter ewes: Utility 1 to 2 95 to 230 pounds, 87.50 to 117.50.

Slaughter goats: sold per head.

Slaughter kids: Selection 1 32 pounds, 80, 72 pounds, 170. Selection 2 42 pounds, 74, 55 pounds, 122.50.

Slaughter nannies: Selection 2 95 pounds, 105, 160 to 175 pounds, 77.50 to 80 per hundredweight.

Slaughter Billies: No test.

Slaughter Whethers: No test.

Results for Waynesburg Livestock Auction for March 17 were:

Stock cows: 50 to 73. Slaughter cows: Utility and commercial, 60 to 76; boner and boning utility, 58 to 65; cutter and boning utility, 50 to 61; canner and low cutter, 41 to 50. Bulls: Yield Grade 1 1,500 to 2,000 pounds, 62 to 88.50; yield grade 2, 1,000 to 1,400 pounds, 55 to 90. Feeder steers: Medium and light, 1, 250 to 280 pounds, 82 to 140; 300 to 500 pounds, 70 to 151; 600 to 900 pounds, 80 to 122; heifers, medium and light 1, 300 to 500 pounds, 82 to 100; light 1, 400 to 650 pounds, 71 to 125; bulls medium and light, 1, 300 to 620 pounds, 60 to 135.

Calves: Veal, prime, 80 to 105; choice, 60 to 95; good, 40 to 55.

Farm calves: No. 1 Holstein bulls, 90 to 120 pounds, few, 35 to 80; No. 2 Holstein bulls, 15 to 55; beef – bull and heifers/head, 50 to 150.

Hogs: Barrows and gilts, 1 to 2, 210 to 255 pounds, 50 to 64; 2 to 3, 255 to 280 pounds, 40 to 64; sows 1 to 3, 300 to 500 pounds, 55 to 70. Feeder pigs, 1 to 3, 15 to 20 pounds, 10 to 21 per head; 1 to 3, 25 to 35 pounds, 15 to 34 per head.

Lambs: High choice, 80 to 100 pounds, 110 to 230; choice, 40 to 75 pounds, 130 to 250; feeder lambs, good, 60 to 130. Sheep, 25 to 80; fat sheep, 22 to 80. Goats, large, 65 to 175 per head; medium, 50 to 140 per head; small, 5 to 70 per head.
