Services begin at noon and are followed by a soup and sandwich luncheon. The public is welcome to attend. There is no charge.
Social networking
What did we do before Facebook? The Rev. Ed Arbogast of the First Christian Church stopped Crabby on the street to tell her he is very impressed with living in a small town like Perryopolis.
Ed and his wife, Joyce, were delivering Meals on Wheels when one client didn’t answer the door. Joyce said something had to be wrong and called someone who knew one of the neighbors.
The neighbor called a person who lived close by because she knew they had a key to the home of the client.
When they got into the house, they found the client unresponsive and called the ambulance. None of the people involved (except Ed and Joyce) has a computer or is on a social networking site, but they have something else, old-fashioned social networking, neighbors who care.
