Scholarship opportunities available
The Community Foundation of Fayette County (CFFC) has scholarship opportunities available to Fayette County residents. Educational awards range from $100 – $1,500 and are available to graduating high school seniors and to students already enrolled in a college or university.
Awards cover a wide range of designations and interests.
There are awards for students pursuing various careers, including nursing, visual arts, music education, jazz studies, education, international studies or culinary arts. There are awards designated for graduates of all of the Fayette County high schools and for those planning to attend specific schools including West Virginia University, the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, or Laurel Business Institute.
?To be considered for scholarship, applicants may visit the Community Foundation website, download and complete the application, and submit the required information needed for each scholarship. An essay is encouraged. Students may apply any time after Jan. 1 and before the deadline of April 1, 2011. All applications must be postmarked by April 1, to be considered.
Award selection is based on various factors including academic merit and financial need; however, financial need is not a criteria for all awards. Recommendations are made from the pool of applicants, and some awards are made directly through Fayette County High School Guidance Offices.
