Cal U football players face charges following assault

1 min read

Two California University of Pennsylvania football players are facing multiple charges after they allegedly attacked a man in California earlier this month.

California police Officer Timothy Sheehan said Toni J. Whiteleather, 21, of Rochester was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct and Darnell Harding, 19, of McKeesport was charged with simple assault, ethnic intimidation, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Sheehan said the charges were filed after police were called to a location on Wood Street shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday.

Sheehan said that police learned that the incident occurred when Michael Chambers, 23, of Hunker walked out of a restaurant on Wood Street.

Sheehan said that as Chambers exited the building, Harding walked up to him and punched him in the face.
