Bullskin Township home damaged by fire

BULLSKIN TWP. – Seven departments from Fayette and Westmoreland counties responded late Tuesday to a residential fire that caused substantial damage to the home.

According to Fayette County property records, Randy Gowton owns the 155 Hammondville St. two-story frame structure.

“When the fire companies arrived, there was a lot of fire throughout the structure,” said Brad Gillott, Bullskin Township VFD firefighter.

No injuries were reported.

The state police fire marshal is conducting an investigation into the cause of the 10:30 p.m. fire.

In addition to Bullskin, other Fayette County departments responding to the blaze included Connellsville Township and Everson. Westmoreland County fire personnel from Mount Pleasant, East Huntingdon and Chestnut Ridge, along with the Scottdale VFD Rapid Intervention Team also responded to the scene.

Morrell Volunteer Fire Department provided stand-by assistance.
