Nevella E. Brown, 94 of Washington, Pa., formerly of Fredericktown died Thursday March 24, 2011 in the Washington County Health Center.

She was born March 23, 1917 in Centerville Boro, Pa., a daughter of the late Ernest W. and Della Hormell Kinder.

In 1982 she retired from the Washington store of Kmart. She was formerly employed by the Fredericktown A&P.

Mrs. Brown was a 80 year member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Fredericktown (Deemston). For many years she served on the Election Board in the Fifth Ward of Centerville Boro. and was a former member of the Beth-Center Senior Citizens, Vestaburg.

She enjoyed crocheting, and often made lap robes that were distributed to several area nursing homes. She also enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and was an avid reader.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; Five grandchildren; Ten great grandchildren.

Deceased is her husband, Millard C. Brown, Jr. who died March 17, 1971. Deceased in addition to her husband, is a son Samuel Simon who died August 19, 1990, Three brothers: Florian, Arley G. and Lawrence Kinder, Three sisters: Gertrude Murphy, Tracey and Lorraine Kinder, who died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday) in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Monday March 28, 2011 to proceed to the MT. ZION UNITED METHODIST CHURCH for services at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Markley and Rev. Roger Applebee officiating.

Interment will be in the Westland Cemetery, Brownsville (Centerville Boro.). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt.
