Rita D. Martelli, age 63, of Amend, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2011 with her loving family at her side.

She was born July 22, 1947 in Uniontown, PA, the daughter of the late Pete and Susan Stapinski Martelli.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Trifiro and brothers: Joe, Bill and Johnny Martelli.

Rita was a life long member of St. Therese RC Church and a former employee of Michael Berkowitz Inc. with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed walking, gardening, cooking and helping others.

She is survived by her best friend and devoted sister, Linda Christopher and husband Gary of Amend, PA; her beloved nieces: Carrie Fascetti and husband Matt and Lisa Jeffrey and husband Mark; and her special friend, Bill Kraynak. Rita is also survived by Dominic and Giana Fascetti whom she adored and considered her angels; her sisters: Mary Ezzi of Uniontown, Rose Kochis of Uniontown and Joan Kuritz and husband Dan of Amend; brothers: Richard Martelli and wife Loretta of Amend, Stanley Martelli of Amend and Sam Martelli of Connellsville; several Godchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many special friends.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, PA today, March 28, 2011 and Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday morning until 9:15 AM when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese RC Church with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak V.F., Pastor as celebrant.

Entombment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

Parish Wake Service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 3 PM in the funeral home.
