Suit alleges age discrimination

By The 1 min read

?A Fayette County man has filed suit against a Charleroi company, claiming he was fired from his job because of his age.

William D. Bittner, 59, no address, named Alstom Grid, an electrical transmissions company, as the defendant. The suit was filed Wednesday in federal court in Pittsburgh.

Bittner claimed a younger manager criticized him, he was stripped of his management duties and then fired because he was older.

The suit, filed by attorney Edward J. Feinstein, also alleged Bittner was forced to work in excess of 40 hours a week, but was not compensated.

The filing asks a judge to award back and future pay, damages and out-of-pocket expenses, as well as to compensate him for overtime and determine the company discriminated against him on the basis of his age.
