Betty S. Varndell, 83, of Hopwood passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at LaFayette Manor.

She was born July 26, 1928 in Uniontown, daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Glover) Shaffer.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank S. Varndell on May 27, 2011 and five brothers: Harry, Robert, Eugene Lewis and Ralph Shaffer.

Surviving are her two sons and spouses: Ron Varndell and wife Betty and Henry Varndell and wife Linda; grandchildren: Kerry Smith and husband John, Heather Kolosky and husband Mike, Holly and fiance Jimmy Gallo, Karen Varndell and fiance Mike Klimko, Henry Jr. ‘Mikie’ and wife Jennifer, Ronald ‘R.P.’ and wife Ara; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Maggie and Jaden; a sister Ruth Rudinsky and a brother Ray Shaffer.

Betty enjoyed playing bingo at Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club and being with her family.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service with Rev. Terry Collins officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
