Cecelia Plachko Wrabel, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Mt. Macrina Manor, where she was well taken care of for the past two years.

She was born on January 18, 1925 in Uniontown, Pa., the youngest daughter of Andrew and Sophia (Patrick) Plachko.

She graduated from North Union High School in 1943 and worked as a secretary in the Voter Registration Office in the Fayette County Courthouse until 1956, and after her marriage to Joseph E. Wrabel, as an Accounts Receivable Clerk at Jack and Heintz Company in Bedford, Ohio until 1958, when she became a mom and homemaker.

She loved to travel, including bus trips with her sister, Frances Tajc, as well as many family vacations with her daughter, Joanne, son-in-law Michael, and her grandson, Albert, who meant the world to her.

She was also the genealogist of the Plachko family and recorded over 180 direct descendants of her parents.

Cecelia was a life long member of St. Mary (Nativity) Church, and active in the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Rosary/Altar Society. She had also been a volunteer in the school cafeteria for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph E. Wrabel in 1981; an infant son John Joseph Wrabel in 1964; siblings, Mary Hudock, Veronica Mateosky, Elizabeth Painley, Anthony Plachko, Margaret Hradesky, and George Plachko.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Joanne Marinich and husband Michael; grandson Albert Louis Marinich; sisters Frances Tajc; sister-in-law Rosalie Waleri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecelia possessed a gentle spirit, a warm and loving heart, a practical nature, and a strong faith to meet life’s challenges. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
