County constable handbook discussed by commissioners

1 min read

The Fayette County commissioners Tuesday discussed approval of a county constable handbook that is set to go into effect on Jan. 1.

The commissioners voted to place a motion on Thursday’s agenda to approve the handbook, provided all questions from constables are answered by then. The motion also includes a provision that if it isn’t approved on Thursday, the motion will be placed on the December commissioners agenda.

Constables have several duties, including serving arrest warrants, serving civil court documentation and transporting prisoners.
